- Extent of burn → rule of nines
- Head 9%
- Each arm 9%
- Each leg 18%
- Front torso 9%
- Back 9%
- Depth of burn
- First degree - epidermis excluding basement membrane
- Second degree - epidermis and dermis
- Superficial: sharp pain
- Deep: pain not so sharp
- Third degree: total destruction of the skin, no spontaneous reconstruction
- Look for malignant transformation
Criteria for hospitalization
- Second degree >20%
- Third degree >10%

- Silver sulfadizine
