Sutton Halo Nevus

AKA Leukoderma acquisitum centrifugum
 
Clinical presentation
  • Nevus surrounded by a regular vitiligo-like halo nevus of depigmentation
  • Halo hipopigmentado à volta do nevo, não é sinal de alarme
  • Doentes podem queixar-se de prurido
  • Halo melanoma is very rare - it is never a concentric halo around the lesion (irregular halo) and lesion shows melanoma specific patterns
  • 4 clinical stages: progressive involution with subsequent total regression of the central nevus
 
Epidemiologia
  • Common in children and young adults
  • Often in the trunk
 
Dermatoscopia
  • Usually globular
  • Homogenous pattern possible
 
Histologia
  • Usually compound type, infiltrated by dense band-like dermal inflammation (lichenoid) penetrating the lesion
